Exploring Vorgang's Design

Peter Wiegel

Sans Serif

Open Source

Vorgang typeface channels vintage grotesk traditions through bold, old-style forms suited to heritage-inspired display applications. Peter Wiegel's design creates authentic period aesthetics for craft branding, specialty packaging, and retro-themed projects. The bold weight projects authority while vintage details add historical character. Vorgang's old-style aesthetic appeals to breweries, artisanal producers, and heritage brands. Display sizes showcase the typeface's period character. Pair with a contemporary sans-serif for body text.

Vorgang was crafted by Peter Wiegel. The typeface reflects a focus on typographic detail, visible in its letterform construction and optical balance.

As a Sans Serif typeface in the Vox-ATypI Lineal classification, Vorgang features no serif extensions on stroke terminals and stroke contrast ranging from monolinear to subtly modulated. These optical characteristics make it well-suited for corporate identity systems requiring neutrality.

Vorgang is available in a single weight, offering focused typographic consistency for both digital and print applications, with 5 curated font pairings available. Standard Latin character coverage serves the majority of Western typographic workflows.
