Montez was designed by Julieta Ulanovsky. Known for geometric type design inspired by Buenos Aires signage, the designer's expertise shapes Montez's glyph proportions, stroke consistency, and typographic color.

As a Handwriting typeface in the Vox-ATypI Scripts classification, Montez features disconnected or loosely connected letterforms and irregular stroke weight from natural hand pressure. These optical characteristics make it well-suited for pull quotes and editorial accent text.

Montez is available in a single weight, offering focused typographic consistency for both digital and print applications, with 3 font pairings curated. Standard Latin character coverage serves the majority of Western typographic workflows.
