The Story of Mescla

Tomas Gouveia

Sans Serif

Open Source

Mescla Typeface font is a basic geometric grotesk family by Tomas Gouveia designed for versatile contemporary applications. This family brings clean geometric structure to tech startups, creative agencies, and digital products. Mescla's balanced proportions and italic variants work at display and text sizes. Particularly suited for Portuguese and international markets. Works for various contexts. Pairs with serif fonts or other geometrics.

Mescla was designed by Tomas Gouveia. The typeface demonstrates a commitment to typographic detail, visible in its letterform construction and optical balance.

As a Sans Serif typeface in the Vox-ATypI Lineal classification, Mescla features no serif extensions on stroke terminals and stroke contrast ranging from monolinear to subtly modulated. These optical characteristics make it well-suited for screen-first digital products and web applications.

Mescla is available in a single weight, offering focused typographic consistency across digital and print workflows, with 3 font pairings curated. Standard Latin character coverage serves the majority of Western typographic workflows.
