Mekanus

Mekanus Typeface font is an elegant old-style antiqua serif from Arkandis Digital Foundry crafted for refined editorial and formal document design. This distinguished typeface family brings classical proportions and graceful curves that evoke traditional European printing while remaining functional for modern digital applications. Mekanus suits literary publishing, legal documents, wedding invitations, and formal correspondence where timeless sophistication matters. The comprehensive family with italic variants enables rich typographic hierarchies in book interiors and long-form journalism. Designers seeking alternatives to Garamond with a slightly warmer personality will find Mekanus delivers that measured elegance. Works beautifully alongside geometric sans-serifs to create classic-meets-modern publication designs.

Mekanus was crafted by Arkandis Digital Foundry. The typeface brings careful attention to typographic detail, visible in its letterform construction and optical balance.

As a Serif typeface in the Vox-ATypI Classicals classification, Mekanus features bracketed or hairline serifs terminating each stroke and modulated stroke contrast from axis of stress. These optical characteristics make it well-suited for long-form editorial and book typography.

Mekanus is available in a single weight, offering focused typographic consistency for both digital and print applications, with 3 font pairings curated. Standard Latin character coverage serves the majority of Western typographic workflows.
