Sans Serif

Open Source

Format Typeface font is a contemporary geometric sans-serif family designed for systematic modern typography applications. This refined typeface delivers precise utility through careful geometric construction, suitable for design systems, technology products, and publications requiring structural consistency. Format works effectively for UI components, brand systems, and editorial layouts. The systematic approach ensures coherent typographic results. Particularly suited for design systems and product teams. Pairs with complementary systematic faces.

Format was created by Nathan Laurent. The typeface shows dedication to typographic detail, visible in its letterform construction and optical balance.

As a Sans Serif typeface in the Vox-ATypI Lineal classification, Format features no serif extensions on stroke terminals and stroke contrast ranging from monolinear to subtly modulated. These optical characteristics make it well-suited for wayfinding, signage, and information design.

Format is available in a single weight, offering focused typographic consistency for both digital and print applications, with 4 curated font pairings available. Standard Latin character coverage serves the majority of Western typographic workflows.
