About

The Story of Broken

Yash Gadikar

Display

Open Source

Broken font is a bold display typeface featuring cool heavy sharp strong letterforms. Aggressive and damaged, this design delivers destruction aesthetics for action entertainment, extreme sports, and products embracing fractured visual expression. The sharp angles suggest shattering while heavy weight creates imposing presence. Designers working on action games, extreme merchandise, and aggressive branding will appreciate the shattered character. Pair with clean body text.

Broken was designed by Yash Gadikar. The typeface shows dedication to typographic detail, visible in its letterform construction and optical balance.

As a Display typeface in the Vox-ATypI Graphic classification, Broken features tight spacing optimized for large point sizes and exaggerated contrast, weight, or decorative features. These optical characteristics make it well-suited for brand logotypes and wordmarks.

Broken is available in a single weight, offering focused typographic consistency spanning screen and print contexts, with 3 font pairings curated. Standard Latin character coverage serves the majority of Western typographic workflows.
