The handwriting quality feels genuinely artistic and unhurried. Designers creating casual art materials, relaxed creative branding, or approachable artistic content will find Barato delivers appropriate ease. Barato was designed by Edson Silva. The typeface demonstrates a commitment to typographic detail, visible in its letterform construction and optical balance.

As a Handwriting typeface in the Vox-ATypI Scripts classification, Barato features disconnected or loosely connected letterforms and irregular stroke weight from natural hand pressure. These optical characteristics make it well-suited for pull quotes and editorial accent text.

Barato is available in a single weight, offering focused typographic consistency spanning screen and print contexts, with 3 font pairings curated. Standard Latin character coverage serves the majority of Western typographic workflows.
